CORONET PEAK EXPRESS AND SUGAR BOWL EXPRESS CHAIRLIFTS

QUEENSTOWN

THE PROJECT

Skiing is a treasured Kiwi past time. NZSki has invested significant capital in the last few years to upgrade their ski infrastructure at The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. Patch played an important role in the recent construction of both the Sugar Bowl Express chairlift at The Remarkables Ski Area and the Coronet Express chairlift and gondola at Coronet Peak Ski Area.

OUR ROLE

Patch visited both locations and viewed the mountains from the surrounding landscape. Following those site investigations, Patch built a 3D model of both ski areas and proposed chairlift lines, including top and bottom terminals, lift towers, chairs and gondola cabins. Then we created visual simulations to demonstrate the visibility of the proposed chairlifts from key viewpoints. We prepared a landscape assessment and supporting graphics which formed part of the successful application for both chairlifts.
